INTERVIEW INTO A BOOK
For this project, I had to interview someone who had a significant impact on my life. I chose my high school art teacher she supported me throughout high school, and creating a book about her felt like a meaningful way to give back. A big part of the process involved developing thoughtful interview questions that would give me enough content to work with. From there, I focused on designing a layout system that would make the book feel cohesive and visually engaging.
EQUALITY IN PUBLISHING ZINE
For this project, I was given four words to guide my research and design around gender equality in the publishing industry. I enjoyed using these words as a foundation to create something meaningful and impactful. I included data like weekly earnings and intentionally left crop and printer marks to represent mockups. It was a fun and creative way to design posters and artwork for a cause that matters.
LETTER FORM BOOK
For this massive project, we created one letter in 100 different ways each week of the semester, totaling around 1,000 letters. Afterward, the focus was on designing a layout for the letters and ensuring the spreads looked clean and visually balanced. I enjoyed my approach to the layout placing the full letter set on the left and my favorites on the right, creating an interesting contrast.
SCREENPLAY INTO A BOOK
For this project, I was tasked with turning a movie script into a book using only typography. I wanted the book to feel long and awkward just like the movie. Most of the design process involved figuring out how to represent different characters and scenes through type, and doing a lot of copy editing to get it right.
